Chonnessey Bowie is an abstract expressionist artist based in Oakland, California. Inspirations include Basquiat, Pollock, de Kooning, and Picasso just to name a few. Bowie is focused mainly on expressing things of relevance and important historical events. Trying to find the hidden gems that make up current life and expose truth and significance. 

My Art Story

I started painting out of a calling. I kept finding paint on a job and just seen it as a continuous sign to take it home and do stuff with it. I never did until the last few months of working there. One day I cleaned out an artist’s abandoned loft and just decided to take everything I could. Two months later I quit the job and started the journey I’m on now.
